Saturday July 14, 2001, The funeral procession left the North Station at 11:30am. A Lancaster City Police Department cruiser blocked the intersections on the way to the interment site in Derry Township, Dauphin County. Trucks in the procession were Southern Manheim Township Fire Company, Engine 2-11-3 and Command 2-11, Lancaster County Haz Mat 2, Haz Mat 2-9-1, West Lancaster Fire Company, Rescue 6-8 and all apparatus from both stations of the Lancaster Township Fire Department.

At the grave site, The flowers from the service were carried from Rescue 6-6 to the grave site. Members and friends formed two lines creating a pathway to the final resting place. As the members and friends stood at attention in the warm summer sun, a bagpipe could be heard in the distance.

The coffin was extracted from the hearse into the hands of the awaiting pallbearers. The pallbearers led by Assistant Chief Keith Rankin carried the coffin down the pathway past the members and friends standing at attention as a bagpipe played Amazing Grace.

Patrick Egan gave a short message after which a bugler played taps. After a moment of silence the siren on Engine 6-6-3 sounded for 15 seconds. At the conclusion of the grave side service, members and friends filed past the casket one by one touching the coffin, offering silent prayers and saying their last good-bye to Pookie.
